Offering Lessons in Bharatha Natyam and Indian Folk Dances

The story begins in India with Indira Gandhi, the first woman to become head of a democracy. To portray a global visionary, the life of Mother Teresa and her mission is told in exquisite dance "Abhinaya", a rendering of emotions. Back in the U.S., the audience witnesses dance that stretches the imagination of even the most experienced choreographers. The story of the first woman aviator Amelia Earhart is told. And finally we are brought to Texas and San Antonio to reminisce as the life of La Meri the "Queen of Ethnic Dance" unfolds with a panoply of dances of many countries. La Meri began her career in dance in San Antonio and returned to spend the last years of her life here.

The master choreographer Mrs. Padmini Ravi is from Bangalore, India. The artistes are students of Arathi School of Indian Dance in San Antonio, the leading Indian Dance school established in 1981.
